The AWO Schülerhort Philippsburg provides care, education and leisure activities for primary school children. Clear structures, shared values and a trusting atmosphere create a family-like setting in which learning, playing and making friends are at the centre.
The pedagogical approach focuses on supporting the children in their everyday school life while also encouraging their independence and social development. Homework support takes place in fixed groups and in close cooperation with the schools. In addition, the children can take part in creative leisure activities, projects and educational programmes.
The Schülerhort also offers a varied holiday programme with excursions and different activities. Children receive breakfast, lunch and snack, and a transport service to and from school is available. The centre also provides places for children with social and behavioural difficulties, allowing them to participate in an inclusive and supportive environment.
A key part of our work is promoting democracy and participation. They create inclusive spaces where young people can voice their opinions, influence decisions, and engage in shaping the organization itself.
